Hosting Meetings

Is your book club or civic group looking for a place to meet?
Books & Fields can host up to 14 persons in a comfortable room with refreshments, any time day or evening.

Our premises

Within Books & Fields are a suite of rooms formerly used as a high-end office, with sound-absorbing walls and 10-foot ceilings. We have rooms that are 12 x 12 feet and 19 X 13 feet, set away from the active portion of the store. Tables and chairs can be arranged as you wish for groups as large as 14 persons, or more if you want to use two rooms.

Hours and services/Scheduling

We are willing to open the premises outside of business hours, as long as we have someone available to open the store. The best times will be afternoon and evenings in Monday-Wednesday, but please contact us if another time is preferable for you. Given that we are a few-person operation there may be days and times that we cannot open the store for your meeting. Kindly accept our apologies and let’s see if we can find an alternative time where we can help.

You are welcome to bring your own refreshments and to use our Coffee Nook equipment and tableware. You are asked to remove all waste and to clean the space after you have used it.

Groups welcome to hold meetings

If you are a formal or informal civic group, we are happy to make the space available. Reading groups, church groups, Scouts, and others are welcome to visit.

For reasons of liability, Books & Fields will have someone on the premises during the meeting. They will work in another section of the store and will not interfere with your meeting.

The cost to you: $0.

We do not charge for this service. It is our way of thanking the community for hosting our store.

Of course, if any of the participants wants to look at our books and make a purchase, we will happily sell to them, but that is not expected.
